Hi — I'm Marques Smalley, the founder and (currently only) engineer behind MarqCode.
Over the last five years I've shipped software across startups and agencies — Creative Mines, Deksia, Kikcit, BizStream, and Clicki Referrals — building serverless SaaS platforms, AI-powered tools, mobile apps, and CMS-driven marketing sites.
MarqCode brings that experience into a lean, founder-led agency: senior-level engineering without the overhead, straight-line conversations with the person actually writing the code, and a real process from consult to launch.
Multi-tenant platforms, dashboards, internal tools on TypeScript / Next.js / AWS / Firebase.
OpenAI-driven pipelines, webhook orchestration, scheduled jobs.
Storyblok, Kentico, headless setups for non-developers.
[ Services ]
Every engagement starts with a short consult and clear scope. No fixed packages — the work is shaped to the problem.
Full-stack web applications built to your business — not bent around someone else's template.
Ship AI features that actually help — LLM pipelines, RAG, and assistants wired into your product.
Replace the manual, repeat-every-week tasks with reliable jobs that run themselves.
[ How it works ]
Every client engagement follows the same core process, regardless of service type.
Initial conversation with the client to understand their business, goals, and pain points.
Deep-dive into the specific business requirements for the project — what needs to be built, who will use it, and what problems it solves.
Shape the system design — data models, interfaces, and how the pieces fit together — before locking in tools.
Founder selects the appropriate technologies for the project based on scope, complexity, and long-term maintainability.
Features are scoped and mapped out — what's in v1, what's a future phase, and how the work will be sequenced.
Build the software using the chosen stack, with regular check-ins and incremental progress you can see.
Ship the project to production with monitoring, hosting, and everything needed to go live.
Ongoing refinement and feature additions based on client feedback and evolving business needs.

A modular monolith, a Postgres exclusion constraint, an RLS leak, and two paths to the same reservation: lessons from building Brookes Bayou.
